10 Teen Tales
The other night we had huge thunderstorms and lightening in Bangkok. I sat on my balcony just staring at the rain falling down, it was good to just have time to myself and think. I started thinking about my late teens, and how this time in my life was the best so far, bar far.
I thought I’d write down 10 of my fondest memories I have from my teens. I wouldn’t dream of doing any of the following now, but I look back and don’t regret any of them.
- When I left school, I started working in an Estate Agent selling property. I wasn’t actually allowed to do the selling part but I did show many people around different houses and answering there boring questions. This meant I had access to the keys of vacant properties. On a Friday night, I would take a key home and invite my friends round to the vacant house or flat for a party. I was so lucky I never got caught. Can you imagine if a neighbor asked the house owner why there were 30 kids getting drunk and listening to music in their house last night?
- Loosing my “V” Plates… Sad, but like most, you never forgot your first time!
- Before loosing my “V”plates, I nearly got the chance a few months earlier. Me and my friend took a girl back to my place, we went to my bedroom and I lost out on the coin flip, my friend would go first. I watched TV (yes, in the same room!) while he did his business. It was then my turn, I pulled down my pants and then all of the sudden, a friend turned up. I tried convincing the girl I would get rid of him but she wouldn’t have it.
- Me and a friend shared another girl once (same friend), my friend asked her who had the biggest sausage and she said mine! She did like me more than my friend so I don’t actually know if this was true, she could have just said that so I thought more of her, however, I didn’t let it go for years!
- I have a cool memory of listening to a whole album called “Orb”, Orb is best described as psychedelic music. Myself and a group of mates turned of all the lights off and just laid on the floor all silent just listening to the music for an hour or so. When the music stopped we were all so relaxed… from the music and something else! This stands out as it’s not the usual stuff we used to get up too.
- Super star DJ - I was never good at DJ’ing, but I have had a few pair of decks during my teens. We would all site in my bedroom and mix for hours and I also had 2 other friends (Ash and GK) who used to rap on the mic.
- Getting arrested for the first time - We were walking home from the pub, the first successful time I got served in a pub, I guess I was 16 at the time. On the way home, we noticed a car on fire. We went over to see if anyone was in the car and, it’s not every day you see a car on fire. As soon as we walked over, the Police turned up and thought it was us that did it. They took us down the police station and they needed to take our clothes so they could test for fibers in the lab. We didn’t get our clothes back for 6 months, and we had to spend the night in the cell.
- Another memory involving a girl… Me and a friend took turns on kissing this girl in a dark alley. Anyway, I got my fingers wet and so did my friend. We didn’t mention it to each other though. As we walked home in the dark, we come under street light and noticed blood all over our jackets and hands. We both smiled at each other and decided to go round my other friends house to clean ourselves up before going home. When we arrived, there were around 10 of our friends watching a film, we walked in and they all thought we got into a fight. Because the girl we had been kissing was so ugly, we decided to play along with it. All of the sudden everyone was putting their shoes on wanting to go out and look for the boys that we had gotten into a fight with. We didn’t know what to do. In the end we convinced our friends that it wasn’t worth going out now, as the fight happened a few hours ago.
- Meeting my mate Nick for the first time. This is a very clear memory. On the day I moved into a new house where I would spend my teens, a boy knocked at the door and asked if I wanted to play football with him and his friends. Of course I said yes, and we have been excellent friends ever since, even to this day (He is the friend who, for some unknown reason, shared girls with me)
- 10) 1999 news years eve party. In my late teens, myself and my friends we addicted to jack and jills. This night I took 13 and was off my face. I couldn’t speak or walk, I was a vegetable.. but I could remember the whole night. It was a cracker!
2 things stand out from the above. 1) None of my fondest memories were at school. This was because I went to a different school to what my friends went too. 2) I have the same set of friends except one (Ash - if you happen to read my blog mate, get in touch!) to this day - yeap, 10 years later and we still hang out with each other, when I’m home. I would not have had the amount of fun without the coolest and most crazy set of friends anyone can wish for. (Thanks: DJ Elsey, Stavross, GK, Nose, Avery, Ash, Tonyon, Fitz, Norcross, and Ashley)
Yes, I wasn’t the stereotype of a private school boy, but I think I was so lucky to have care free fun for 5 years. There are lot’s more, even more shocking and crazy memories, but I thought I would leave it at 10. (Plus my mum read my blog! Hahaha)
So, have you got any crazy memories from your teens? If so, I’d love to hear them.

I have had such a giggle reading your 10 fondest memories, you were a bad boy !!!!! lol Some of my fondest memories are
falling in love for the first time with a boy called micheal carr, we were 9 years old and he looked like karate kid, I was smittin. So smittin in fact that when my mum told me I coudn’t go out to play with him I ran away from home and walked 5 miles in the dark to my dads only for the git to walk me straight back again.
Hearing the term forplay and asking my mum what it meant, Of course at that age I though it was gross but when I went to school the next day I told all of my friends ha ha
losing my cherry to a boy who was in the loo for 15 ins while I waited for him to put a condom on only for him to come back in and ask me how to do it. (as if I knew). Anyway after fumbling around we managed to do it lol and I walked home with legs like jelly wondering if my parents would be able to notice anything different about me.
My best fond memory was when I was pregnant with my first child, the first time I felt him move. It was the most amazing feeling as I’d had to have an op on one of my ovaries due to a large cyst when I was 4 months pregnant and I could have lost him. It was as if he was letting my know that he was ok.
My darling son. I thought you was such a good boy ha ha. I am stuck for words. If any one feels sorry for his mummy, instead of buying him a beer she will except a bottle of wine!
HAHA!!! God those days seem so long ago. How things have changed yet none of the faces have. I guess this is why we’re all still mates, because those times were the best in our lives and we don’t want to move on from it. I’ll never forget number 8!!! If I remember rightly, we did go out looking for them, tooled up! When we got half way down the road, we decided to turn back as you and nose kept saying they must had gone somewhere else. Not sure how long before you let the truth out… but it was well worth the wait. I see the ‘girl’ around now and again (won’t mention names haha) and when I do, I picture your cream thomas brown puffer with loads of jam on it HAHA!!!. This page is like a trip down memory lane. Can’t wait for the edited 11-20.
