My Vietnamese Visa was about to expire, and to be honest I had had enough of being in HCMC so I was excited to get away. I knew I wanted to head to a beach I could chill out on, so it was a matter of going to the airport and looking at the departure board to see what options we had. Kuala Lumpur stood out, as I knew I could get a connecting flight to Bali from there.
I decided to chill out in Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days. There’s not much to see or do, in fact I’d go as far as saying it’s one of few cities I have visited that I actually dislike. It’s filthy and very, very smelly. In fact that’s an understatement, it’s fucking disgusting.

The highlight of the trip was going up to the The Petronas Twin Towers connecting bridge and the cool thing is, it’s free! This is the view from up on the bridge:

The China Town Market was cool to walk around and grab some satay’s!

KL is not filthy and smelly. U are.
Cool tower photos! I want to visit solely so I can pull of my best Catherine Zeta Jones impression.
Catherine Zeta Jones impression? Sounds like I haven’t seen this movie!?
welcome back glad to see you traveling again marc and mum
It’s great to be back!!!
its a pity u didnt enjoy yr stay in kl. i think kl is way misunderstood. in fact, one should take kl + the rest of klang valley, then the place becomes much more wholesome.
u might want to visit pavilion or even malls like sunway, mid valley megamall and the curve if u do come back.
btw im writing this from a somewhat neutral point of view – though im malaysian, i dont come from kl. and i believe what you saw were also images of what i saw the last time i visited kl… till, i went beyond those places. now i find kl quite abuzz and nice :)
*on catherine zeta jones, she acted a movie with sean connery in entrapment, which featured the twin towers & melaka.
Having lived in BKK for 4 years and having visited KL, I am a bit surprised by your comment. KL is certainly not an attractive city from an architectural western p.o.v. It isn’t ’sanitized picturesque green’ like Singapore, but compared to messy, noisy, air polluted concrete jungle BKK it is not THAT bad for sure.
was long time ago near the main station for breakfast at a dim sum place near the main train station. does anyone know this place. please mail to nogopo@hotmail.com.
thank u. it was such a wonderful experience….
