A post about nothing in particular 2
Last night I went to see a Thai movie called “Video Clip”, it was a) the first Thai movie where I couldn’t work out what was going to happen next and b) it was full of nudity, beer, drugs, babes and fast cars! Unusual for a Thai movie.
Something I don’t understand: People (Mainly men) that wear those blue tooth ear pieces when walking around town or on the sky train. What is all that about? I understand the need for one of those things when driving (especially in England with the heft penalties.. oh, and the safety issue), but any other time I just think they do it because they think it looks cool. Maybe I’m missing something? Or not trendy enough!
Also, I always see people using hands free kits on the sky train, you know, the ear phones with a mic attached chest height on the cord… the funny thing is that every time I see someone using one they are holding the mic up to their mouth… why not just hold the phone up to your ear?
I was chatting to my landlord the other day and he told me that another unit in my block is up for rent, so, if you are looking for a big 2 bedroom condo (90sqm) near the BTS, let me know and I’ll pass his number on.
I read that the New York Work Steak House at the Marriot Hotel are offering a special set menu during Aug to celebrate 6 years of trading. The special set menu at 6,000B (85 squid) for 2 persons includes: A bottle of house wine, the new york steak house trio followed by soup (lobster or beef). For main you have a choice of US fillet mignon or Phuket lobster, which then leads on to the chocolate dream dessert and tea/coffee. That sound like a pretty good deal and I’m going to try and get down there. Talking of The New York Steak House, we had our work Christmas (true English style hahaha) party there and it wasn’t bad, although we had to wait an hour for our table and while waiting we all got pissed on fancy cocktails inĀ the bar… we all fancied a kebab rather than an imported steak in a 5 star hotel!
I’m really surprised how so many restaurants and shops are cool with us taking the dog inside… the only place we were asked to leave because was Pan Tip computer plaza!
Myself and a few friends have started planning our next trip to Pukading Mountain, I can’t wait!
I bought a book today called “The Travel Book - A journey through every country in the world” It’s a huge book with just a few snippets of info on each country including description, best time to visit, essential experiences along with some other related info. It’s a lonely Planet plublication, so as expected, the images are great! I was a little disappointed that the main image for England was a picture of Brighton Pier! It makes a great tolite book!
