Amsterdam Hotel Krasnapolsky Review

This is my first hotel review and it’s probably going to be the easiest, as I’ve stayed at the Amsterdam Hotel Krasnapolsky many times before. It’s probably the most popular 5 star Hotel in Amsterdam due to its history and location, situated right on the Dam square. I admit, I only stay here when visiting Amsterdam on Business, as the conference I visit is hosted in the same hotel. If I visit Amsterdam with friends, we normally choose the Old Quarter Hotel, just down the road from Amsterdam Hotel Krasnapolsky - Okay, it’s not 5 star but you don’t need it to be with your mates.
It seems that the same annoying things are in place every time I stay here. The most noticeable is the lack of staff in the reception area. Each time I have had to queue for 15 minutes or so before I check-in. After we had checked in we was given a mission to find lift number 5, out of 8, all scattered over the hotel. The room I got this time was the smallest I’ve had from 6 stays, thinking about it, it’s probably the smallest 5 star hotel room I have seen.
The bad bits: small rooms, expensive, understaffed The good bits: location, beautiful lobby
Would I stay again? Only if I was visiting for a function in the Hotel. If I was bringing the missus, I would try somewhere else.
