After 10 great days exploring Hanoi, I’ve now made my way down to Hue, which was the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty at the beginning of the 19th century.
Hanoi was amazing… I could have easily spent an additional 3 months in Hanoi exploring the city’s eateries, coffee shops and discovering new alleys to get lost in, however I promised myself that I need to keep moving in 2009 – So that’s exactly what I’m doing.
I’m finding it reasonably difficult managing my work balance at the moment. I’m sure it will get easier the longer I work while traveling around, but over the last month or two I’ve done very little work and I’m starting to feel lazy, even guilty, that I’m not growing my projects. It’s a weird feeling considering I work for myself and have enough residual income that I don’t need to physically put the hours in, but I’ve always been a grafter, so by not working just doesn’t seem the right thing to do.
So, it’s time to burry my head in my laptop so I can continue growing my projects, building some new ones (A Twitter app) and catch up on some general admin jobs that have been building up. I’ve checked into the Pilgrimage resort for 8 days so I can do just this. The resort is top notch, with huge spacious villas, pools, good food and internet in room. The plan is to sleep early and rise early. Big breakfast in the mornings, send my missus to the spa, work, a swim at lunch time, followed by more work, before having a cocktail or two with my girlfriend watching the sunset go down.
Now this is what I can a great work/life balance :)

Curious to know what areas of the internet you are generating that residual income. Any chance of sharing that? Because no offense, but most of your previous projects which you have talked about here don’t seem to be very successful.
I have my fingers in a lot of pies, but the core niches I am heavily involved in are Adult and Gambling, hence not wanting to write about these projects due to family reading my blog (and wanting to keep this blog family friendly!). I also so some consultancy work (SEO).
Pretty flash digs mate! Cheers to a fine work/life balance.
That’s the good life mate! Enjoy your stay.
Porn and gambling – must make the family proud!
They know what I do, and they are cool with it, and proud I’m able to live the great life I do. But it’s something called “respect” as to why I keep it to myself :)
So you’re living off the exploitation of women and people’s addiction to gambling. No wonder you keep it quiet.
hahahaha – Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions :)
Hardly something you’d want to put on a resume!
With you sitting on the other side of the desk, probably not.
With any person with any sort of morals on the other side of the desk perhaps.
Quick qu. – if/when you have a daughter would you be happy for her to appear in your porn?
Porn and gambling have been around for centuries, both are a part of everyday life… whether you agree with it or not. We could debate this issue for days, but I’ve got to get on and edit some BDSM videos ;)
As for your Q: Hard to say as I don’t have kids yet, but if that’s what she really wanted to do, then I’d have no choice but to support her. What about you? Would you support or shut your daughter out if she wanted to work in porn?
I wouldn’t let her work in my porn business!
We shouldn’t be harsh on Chris. He was honest enough to mention it. You can sell drugs but not use drugs. It’s all about the income, survival. He could be raking in the money in the adult industry but not practicing it nor preaching it. It’s all business.
Chris, I’ve been reading your blogs and I know you are a good guy!!!
