Arrived in Manila, Philippines

Okay, so I got my refund and like I said, I got myself a flight to the Philippines.

Just a usefull bit of advice: Always check different routes to booking tickets (for flights and hotels) I always used to say that booking over the internet is cheaper (Well, it should be shouldn’t it? that vuts out man work??) Anyway, I checked the flights with Philippine Airlines on there web site and they were high, so I called them to see if they had any promotions on at the moment and sure enough, I was able to get the same ticket for half monies! I don’t understand airlines marketing motives, I really don’t.

So, I have arrived in Manila, the capitol city of Philippines. Did you know that the Philippines is made up of 7,102 islands! I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to fit them all in but I did buy a Loney Planet book to find out what ones are worth seeing and have sort of made up an Itenary.

I booked my first night in the Peninsula, which was only 60 squids. Very nice indeed.

I haven’t had the chnace to go outside yet as it’s now 10pm and I am shatterd! Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get to see some of this crazy city before boarding another flight to head down to the beach.

Just one last quick note, on the back of the hotel door they have instructions on what to do if we experience an earthquake! Blimey! I hope we have a tiny winey little one so I can say down the pub in 40 years time… “When I was in the Philippines………………”

Right, I’m off to have a Bath, the first Bath in many, many months.
