Biscotti Restaurant Review, Bangkok

Biscotti is often considered one of the best Italian restaurants in Bangkok, and as one of my New Year resolutions is to eat at more of Bangkok’s finest restaurants, I decided to give Biscotti a try over the weekend.

Although the restaurant sits on the ground floor of my favorite hotel chain, The Four Seasons, it’s not as stuffy as you would expect. In fact, it has a real airy, open, relaxed, informal feel about the place which was a pleasant surprise. Watching the chefs at work in the open kitchen is a really cool feature (why don’t more restaurants feature their engine for the customers to see?)

The menu features classic Italian cuisine along with a few modern dishes including pizza, seafood, risotto and obviously, Pasta. Biscotti also has a great wine menu featuring many bottle’s from Italy and they also have wines available by the glass.

This is what we had:

Bread with garlic bulb

This was impressive, a soft bread with rosemary and a whole garlic bulb on top.

Chef’s compliments: A crispy bread with some kind of vegetables on top… very good!

This was the highlight of the meal. We couldn’t decide what to have for starters so we went with the chef’s selection. 12 bite sized pieces of different meats, hams and chesses. We shared each one and apart from the beef (2nd in from the left top) they were all outstanding.

My girlfriend opted for the seafood spaghetti… she thought the spaghetti was to hard but after tasting it myself it was cooked, just not overcooked as most restaurants seem to cook pasta. She mentioned this to the waiter when she asked why she didn’t eat it all, she said “Italian sussstyle!”

I decided to go for the Risotto with duck… mainly because I’ve never eaten a risotto with before! This was very nice, real comfort food. And so filling!

This is the open kitchen at closing, an hour before it was great fun watching 6 chefs working like crazy!

For the food above with a bottle of Chianti, tax and tips: 5,500b
