When you first look at this, you may think it’s still life photography, however in fact it’s a painting by Pablo Guardiola. What I like about this painting are the grease stains on the bag… can you see what it is?

It’s not a painting, it’s a photograph.

You wrong :) It’s a painting for sure… can you see the world map as the greese stain?

See this link then… and the quote from it below the link.

Mr. Guardiola will also display a photograph of a greasy brown paper bag placed on a table. There are other objects there as well, but they remain beyond the focal plane. At a glance, that is all one sees, a simple scene. But then, upon further inspection it becomes obvious that the grease on the bag is in the shape of a world map. The familiar landmasses are unmistakable, as the evolved piece envelops the viewer in thought.

Thanks for the link… interesting. When I saw the image I originally thought it was a photo and when I searched on-line to try and find somewhere to link to Mr. Guardiola all the blogs/sites were saying it’s a painting as well. What he did was amazing… do you think it was planned to be like that?

It’s just a coincidence that the world map come out as it did, IMHO. Just like the Jesus image on the toast a little while back that was sold on the internet.

I can’t imagine someone taking the time to blot grease stains in such a way as to get the image, but who knows for sure?

BTW, thanks for the blog. You make for good reading.
