Bali

One of many beautiful rice fields in Bali

As long time readers will know, I very rarely cover projects on this blog that I’m not directly involved with. This blog is a personal journal afterall. However I’m going to break the routine to tell you about the new Tropical MBA semester that was launched today, as it’s an amazing offer for the right person who wants to travel and work at the same time.

The new Tropical MBA will allow someone to work with Dan, Ian and their team while living in Bali. Dan’s plan is to get a villa in Bali, where he’s team will work for at least a month. The lucky candidate will receive enough income to cover basic living expenses, and is guaranteed to learn fast. I think the ability to learn fast from successful entrepreneurs is the true value here.

Over the last month I’ve been hanging out with David (a crazy dude!), the 2nd Tropical MBA winner, and have got a good insight into the value David has gained since signing up to the program. We’ve discussed the Tropical MBA on various occasions (as I want to launch my own program soon), and I can clearly see what a positive impact this program has had on David’s life.

This is a great opportunity for those who want to live a lifestyle around building their own business (Dan actively helps he’s employees with their own projects), travel, learn heaps, and live on a tropical island for a while. This isn’t for everyone, but if you’ve not got any commitments (i.e a family) right now and fancy giving this unique lifestyle a shot, I honestly think you won’t find a better opportunity than this.

Go on over to the Tropical MBA site to apply now.

P.S – At some point, I plan to pop over to Bali to hang out with the crew. To show my support, I will personally invite the winner out to dinner at the best restaurant in town – and will candidly share the most valuable pieces of business advice I’ve learned over the years… something I will never do on-line.

Coconut TV

I cannot access Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, WordPress.com and many other websites I visit on a regular basis here in China. I knew that China blocked sites, but didn’t realise it was this many!

I have been going through my own portfolio of sites to see if they are blocked, and fortunately they are not. Although I have noticed that some Thai blogs have been black listed. This is what appears when China doesn’t want you to see the site:

Landing page when site is blocked

I wonder who decides what ads go on this page? Are they sold?

Of course, if I really wanted to view the sites that are blocked I could always go through a proxy, so no real problem for me.

If you want me to check to see if your web site is blocked in China, leave the URL in the comments and I’ll check them for you.
