I had a friend bring a programmer over to my apartment yesterday and thought it would be nice to carry out the Thai style way of doing things: i.e – offering some good food for people who visit.

I didn’t want to cook so I decided to head over to Central Chidlom, a huge department store with a great food court on the ground floor. In the food court is a section that offer ready cooked food, from Thai to western. I have bought food from here many times before and I have to say, it’s bloody good and the prices are good too.

Here is what I bought for the 3 of us:

Fried White Fish with Garlic and Egg

Fried Fish with Garlic

Egg Noodle with Red Pork

Egg Noodles with red pork

Fried Red Snapper

Fried Red Snapper

AUS Rib Eye Beef Steak

Red Eye Beef

Fried Rice Noodle with Chicken

Fried Rice Noodle with Chicken

Pork with Hong Kong Sauce

Hong Kong Beef

All this come to 526B which is around 8 squid!

    Hello,

I just arrived in bangkok to study.
Living quite close to the Central World but I’ve been
to the central food hall and didn’t find any ready cooked
food. Could you tell me exactly where it is ?

    Thanks

    Hi Franz,

Firstly, I hope your enjoying your stay in Bangkok so far!

It sounds like you got Central World and Central Chidlom mixed up. I’ve never boguht food from the Central store in Central World, located on the top floor. I was talking about Central Chidlom, in Soi Chidlom, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Central world. The ready cooked food is on the ground floor, behind the supermarket. As you walk through the main entrance, turn right and head straight to the back near the bread/pastry section.

    Good luck!

Hehe yeah, I totally mixed up the two places. Thank you for your help. Anyway, finding food is Bangkok is really not a problem but just wanted to know where Central Chidlom was situated. It’s always good to know places like that for ready cooked food.

By the way, I do enjoy my stay in Bkk very much !
See ya and good luck for your blog. I do like it.

    See ya

    Franz

Wow, I wish that 526 baht was still about 8 quid :( I hope one day it can be again! But still Central Chitlom food court is a great place to eat that is still good value!
