China Embassy maximizing profits with demand

A friend went to the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok to get his visa sorted for a trip to China next month. When handing in the application form and his passport he was asked if he wanted the regular service (1 week), express (2-3 days) or the same day service. As he was not in a hurry he chooses the regular service. When he returned a week later to collect his passport/visa, he noticed the issued visa date was the same day he dropped off the application.

Can the Embassy get most visas ready within the same day? Do they take advantage of knowing people will pay more for their Visa if they need it in a hurry? I’m sure they do, and don’t blame them!

Understanding where you can maximize your profits can easily double your yearly turnover. Do you know where you can take advantage in your business?

I’m currently working for a company that Mfg products and getting things out the door, the same day is extremely important to us, especially if we have it in stock, otherwise within 7 days or so. What bothers me is that we’ve a website, and it’s not even up to date. I don’t think anyone at our company is looking at it, or even monitoring its traffic, they don’t have enough knowledge and a bit intimidate by working with the internet.

As of right now, customers are calling in to place order. I can’t help but feel that if we have a way to allow customers to order on line, then it’ll increase our business by a good percentage. What does it take to be able to do that, do we need an extra person just to be able to do this?
