Covering your on-line brand with free user names

If you are just about to launch your “big project” on-line, it’s a good idea to go out there and grab all the user names from the free internet based services in order to protect, and further build, your brand name.

The list below is far from complete, as different niche’s have different “leader” sites, these are just the obvious all compiled into one nice list.
They are all free, apart from the first one on my list: Domain Names.

• Domain Names - If you are really serious about your on-line brand, I think it’s a wise move to register every domian extension possible (.com .org .co.uk .biz etc) and use a 301 re-direct the domain names your not using to your main site.

• Forums - Nearly every niche has a place where webmasters/users can go to hang out.

• Wordpress - Once you have created the account, generate one blog post with a little description and a link to your main site.
