Down to Puerto Pricesa

Today I got up at 6ish to get a flight to Puerto Pricesa , the main city in Palawan, an island to the south west of Manila.

When we arrived we went to our 7pound per night hotel, a little different from staying in the Peninsula but it’s okay, apart from no hot water.

During the day I was looking around the travel agencies for 2 things: 1) to find out costs to go and see the Subterranean River, the 2nd longest under cave river in the world (the first being one in South Laos) 2) To find out how we can get myself to the north of the Island, which is 10 hours plus drive away. After a cup of coffee and a dinkin doughnut I’ve decided to skip going to the north. Why? Apart from the 10 hour drive, this is where the best diving in the world is at, something I wish, but can’t do due to ear problems. However I did manage to book up a trip tomorrow to go and see the under ground river, so the trip to this island wasn’t a wasted journey, well I hope so, I haven’t actually done the trip yet! Tonight I went to one of the best Seafood restaurants I have ever been too: the food, de’cor, service and atmosphere were spot on. Another BIG plus point was the price, this is what I ordered…

1 watermelon shake
2 mango shakes
1 water
3 Shell soups
3 Tuna Steaks
Mix Veg
2 white fish with fruit sauce
Squid with chillie
10 tiger prawns
1 bowl of fruit with cane sugar Guess how much? Considering it was in a lovely wooden teak house, the service was as good as you would find anywhere outside a top notch hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious…………………………….. 10 pounds! Can you believe that? Bloody amazing!
