The old town in Hoi An is extremely beautiful, I just wished I had come here 5 years ago as this is the most touristy place I’ve visited so far in Vietnam. To really get to feel the real Vietnam, I have a feeling you need to hire a motorbike and just go for it! I was going to do this, but with 75kg of luggage and current work commitments, it’s just not possible. I plan on coming back to Vietnam in a couple of months and will only a bring ruck-sack, so I can buy a motorbike and see Vietnam’s rural way of life.
The last few days have been uneventful really. I hired a bicycle and rode 4km to the beach. The beach wasn’t that bad… but nothing special. I guess the main appeal in Hoi An is the huge numbers of tailors and the old town… which as you can see from the images below, is absolutely stunning.
