If you use Twitter, you surely should follow Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg dot com. He generates a lot of home made content that I find really useful. Anyway, today he created a video talking about how he and his mate used to sit down once a week and talk about new ideas that would work well on the web – either stuff that is already being done that could be done a lot better or new ideas that people would find useful.

I think this is such a cool idea that I have just declared Friday as our “Idea Of The Week” day in the office – where we all sit round the meeting table, or go down to a coffee house and discuss ideas. I’ll also be rewarding any member of my team that comes up with an idea that we use – maybe a cash prize and a chunk equity.

Could you apply this to your business? I’m pretty sure you could, and I think that rewarding those that put the extra effort into making a list of ideas throughout the week, could really add value to any company and the team as a whole.

Why didn’t I think of this myself? :) Anyway, thanks Kevin!
