It’s been exactly 60 days since I launched Juice Mag and I thought I’d share a quick overview with you in terms of numbers, which was inspired by a Blog post that Guy Kawasaki wrote on a web project he launched.
0 – I wrote 0 business plans for Juice Mag, and don’t intend to either.
1 – I only registered one domain name
8.88 – The domain cost me $8.88
3 – It took me around 3 hours to come up with the name Juice – And was so glad I thought of it that day!
60 – It took my webmaster 60 days to pull the whole site together (excluding content)
5 – There are now 5 part time employees working on the mag – 3 copy writers, 2 code ninjas and myself working on marketing.
20 – I worked with 20 freelance copy writers and let them all go
31,563 – We have had 31,563 unique visits since launch
115,984 – We have had 115,984 page views since launch
150 – Juice Mag has been visited in 150 different countries!
1 – One lady emailed us to ask if she could be included in our Models directory – bless
84 – We have approved 84 comments
310 – Akismet has caught 310 spam comments
17 – We make use of 17 Wordpress plugins!
3.71 – The most viewed page on Juice Mag, the Models home page, accounts for 3.93%
1,390 – The most popular article ever written on Juice Mag, 20 creative but very romantic ways to propose, has received 1,390 page views – which was written by Alitta (hey, you know I’m proud of you for that!)
0 – The logo didn’t cost us a bean other than time – I wanted to use just text from the beginning so it was just a matter of finding the right font to use. Knowing what you want really does save a lot of time and money :)
1 – It took us one day to find the font, select a colour and tweak it until I was finally happy to roll with it
670 – We profiled 670 models which was a huge task but I’m so glad we did it, as 60% of the traffic coming into the mag is via the model pages
0 – We have spent 0 money on marketing or advertising
3,000 – On the day of launch, I sent over 3,000 emails from my address book letting everyone know about the mag
320 – 320 emails bounced back
1 – I have only written one piece of content on Juice Mag – Our About Page
6 – We are currently in 6th place in Google UK for “juice Mag”
1 – We are in pole position on Yahoo UK
8,022 – According to Yahoo Site Explorer, we have 8,022 links which excludes internal
55 – It will cost you £55 to advertise on Juice Mag with one of our 125 x 125 ad placements
45 – It took me 45 minutes to write this blog post :)
