Got up at 5am this morning to catch my flight to Laos… thought I had time to get a coffee after checking in but it turns out I wrong! The airline staff say they called out my name however I was sitting in the outside area of a cafe having a ciggie so I didn’t hear them.
I fell gutted as I re-arranged my work schedule, gave people time off and my friend in Laos had taken a day off work too. Bummer.
This isn’t the first time I’ve missed a flight and probably won’t be the last. Better luck next week.
Have you ever missed a flight?
Had a routine hospital appointment a couple of years ago. Turned up bang on time. Odd, the receptionist couldn’t find a trace of my appointment. After much searching, they eventually discovered the time was correct… but the appointment was for the previous day. No problem, they could fit me in anyway.
Relieved, I went to sit in the waiting room. Mused over how I’d managed to mix up the dates. After all, the appointment was for the day before my holiday flight left from Geneva, I’d arranged it deliberately, so I could hardly get it wrong, could I?
Then the realisation dawned ….
Excellent! I can just imagine the heart sinking when the “penny dropped” :)
