My Blog keyword competition (Take 2)
After only one reader helped with suggesting keywords I can target for this Blog, I thought I would make the competition easier and create a poll with 3 keywords I’m keen on. All you need to do to stand a chance of winning the $50 Amazon voucher is vote and leave a comment. Simple! I’ll pull a name out of a hat and announce the winner in 10 posts time.

I voted for an Asia Travel Blog. This because I think you then have a more targeted audience for your blog, so you get more relevant ads and can get more revenue from affiliate sales. Also, it isnt as wide a topic as World Travel, so you can rank better in Google with less competition.

I voted for Adventure Travel Blog. My reason is because the first thought that came to mind was, where theres adventure there is always interesting & exciting words to be read, and thats what brings returning surfers back.
I agree with Rob. I voted for Asia Travel Blog because it is a more targeted name, and better defines the type of content on your blog. It will also be easier to find long tail key words that will bring you potential purchasers from Google.

Adventure Travel Blog (9,930,000)
World Travel Blog (227,000,000)
Take Note: TravelBlog.org rank #1 (Asia Travel), rank#5 (Adventure Travel Blog) and rank#2 (Adventure Travel Blog).
I can see one reason why this site ranks on those keywords, simply because the keyword(s) itself is part of the domain name “Travel Blog”. I can see that as an advantage! And here’s my suggestion (own opinion *winks*) choose “World Travel Blog” as your keyword, I voted for it!

I have voted for the adventure Travel blog and I believe more and more people are going for adventure holidays, whether it’s safari, white water rafting or something more adventurous. Most people can’t afford to travel the world. I think adventure travel will get more hits from a wider range of searches.

Good figures on the compeition, however I’m more interested in the amount of searches/traffic I can build to the blog. I am confident that I can build enough back-links to the site with great content that includes the anchor text with my chosen keyword
After some Keyword Research on Word Tracker, I have the following figures:
Asia Travel - 291 per day
Adventure Travel - 691 per day
Word Travel - 273 per day
I know I added “Blog” after each keyword, I did this so it was easier for people to choose. I’ll also mix the anchor text up when building links between the keyword with blog and without.
