Thai Visa Options Pt2
After alot of research and a meeting with an accountant, I thought I’d highlight the different ways you can legally stay in Thailand with long term visa (1 year multi entry)
1) Open a company and get a work permit plus a Non imm Business Visa
The example costs involved are as follows:
Office rental: 10,000 to 25,000B (In Bangkok)
Staff x 2: 28,000+
Director fee: 2,500
Book keeping: 5,000
Monthly tax: 5,000 - 7,000
Electric/internet/phone: 3,500
2) Have a Virtual company with a Business Visa
The costs involved are as follows:
Legally sufficient office: 5,000B
Book keeping: 5,000B
Thai director: 2,500
Monthly tax: 3,500
Validating work permit and visa: 1,500
3) Become a Teacher, the school will a business Visa
4) Marry a Thai girl and get a non imm O visa
5) If you are over 50, can show you have a monthly income exceeding 40,000B per month and have 400,000 in a Thai bank you can get a non Imm O-A visa
My thoughts:
I don’t want to keep the company, nor do I want a virtual company that will cost me over 500 squid per month to stay in a country I love. I’m not ready to marry and I’m not over 50 years old.
This leaves me with 2 options:
1) To become a teacher
2) Tourist - I’ll be granted 90 days our of 180 days (with visits to immigration or a boarder every 30 days)
Conclusion:
As I’m not 100% sure what I want to do, I’m going to go on the tourist Visa from the 24th May (When my Business Visa expires) and my intitled 90 days before I make a decision. Once the 90 days are up I can either:
1) Become a Teacher
2) After 3 months in Thailand, a month in Lao, a month in Vietnam and a month travelling other countries before I can legally re-enter Thailand for another 3 months.
I’m like a yo-yo with my decisions, so I’m just going to go with the flow and see how it plans out! I got to admit, I’ve spent far to much time worrying how I’m going to get around it.
