My Views On Outsourcing Link Building - Open Question Post
My “Ask a Question” feature aims to try and answer any questions my readers have regarding SEO, Web development, Thailand, Bangkok or anything else you think I may be able to answer
I can’t promise I’ll be able to answer all of them, but I will promise I’ll try!
Today question come from Guy:
Im after some recommednations for link builders within Asia and pretty much the whole world. I currently outsource my work to a few companies in India but the links they do arent good enough. I am scouring the world for link builders who
can work on websites like clothes/fashion to insurance/homes and coffee/food etc…I have a real diverse range in websites and alot of websites which i look after but could never link build for all.Just wondering if you know any companies in Thailand who could cater for this sort of work.
Any info is most welcome.
Guy, this isn’t going to be the answer you were looking for but I hope you’ll appreciate my views on outsourcing link building.
Firstly, just to let you know that I’ve had my fair share of experience with outsourcing my link building campaigns to freelancers and companies over the years. Link building, either manually or organically is the backbone to SEO and is the only way you’ll be able to get your sites/pages listed high up within the search engine results, considering you have your On-page SEO on track.
I split link building into 2 sections, Organic - which lies down to getting other sites linking to you off their own back (social media also plays a role here) due to great content and Manual - going out and requesting links from other sites. Both link building tactics take a different set of skills from my experience and I used to outsource both to different people. This is easier said than done.
Link building is the hardest, and most time consuming SEO task there is. It’s a pain in the but to work with but it needs to be done. I outsource a lot of my work, design and programming but I do not outsource my link building anymore… I do this myself and with less time on my hands these days, I had to re-think how I was still going to manage building links for my sites. I decided to hire someone full time who sites next to me in the office - by doing this I can help him understand all aspects of finding, evaluating and getting links while having piece of mind that I’m guiding him to get results, and know that I have someone 8 hours per day building links to my sites. You can not get this piece of mind outsourcing your link building - unless you really rust them (I don’t trust anyone in business, not sure if that’s a good thing or not though)
You get what you pay for - especially with link building
When I was in the same situation as you a few years back, the results I was getting from third parties were poor as well. I had 2 options, one was to hire a trusted link builder that rightfully wants good compensation (from $250 per hour) which I would need to trust or handle link building myself. I choose the 2nd option.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that working with freelancers and most companies more often than not produce poor work unless you go with someone with experience which then gets very expensive. The best bet, if you haven’t got time to manage link building yourself is to employ someone full time, give them a share of your business based on results and you’ll both benefit.

nice post
it really is a nice way that you have your own techniques about outsourcing…
Thanks very much Chris. Your views very much echoe what other people have said from other forums, but due to the amount of websites i look after (60+), outsourcing is the only way and will just require a lot of research. Im into my third week already!
