Google Maps have come a long way since I last checked it out (a year or so ago). Today I asked a programmer I’m working with where he lived and he sent me over a Google Maps link of his area, which then turned into an hour or so zooming into all kinds of places.

I’m going to dedicate this post to my mum as she mentioned that she doesn’t like my business blog posts due to not understanding them (she can just about use email bless her). So, here’s a few screen shots (taken in satellite mode) that are semi personal and should wow her for a minute! :)

My Mum’s pad:

My Nan’s pad – That square is the riding ground for the horses, and directly under you can see the stables:

This is the area where I live in Bangkok:

This is the route that I take when I run every other day:

Have you checked Google Maps out recently? Any other uses (apart from looking up addresses and looking at landmarks) that you know about?

Can’t believe you actually jog down Silom Rd. Lumpini Park is ok but the evening pollution on Silom must be a killer – like smoking a packet of cigs while jogging!

I got to admit, that’s the stretch of the run where I walk and get my breath back :) I tend to run in the early hours of the morning (otherwise I’d run in an air conditioned gym) so traffic is a lot lighter than the evenings.
