T Grill Restaurant review, Kirimaya Hotel, Khao Yai, Thailand

After a fun packed day visiting Khao Yai National Park, we checked out one of the 2 hotel’s restaurants: T-Grill. Like the title suggests, they offer grilled meats and seafood along with some pasta, salads and even some Thai food.

The decor is very nice with the open sides looking over the golf course, although we couldn’t see much as we ate dinner at night. It was also pretty chilly, so was thankful we both brang jackets. We started the meal by ordering a Singapore sling and a pina colada… both were’nt all that. We then went for 2 in-house cocktails, one called the melon calada and the other called Golfers dream… again, nothing to shout about. We then ordered a bottle of Chianti, after one sip, I thought “this is more like it!”

As for the food, we started with freshly baked bread which was excellent:

Along with Calamari which was very good (not to chewy like most squid)

And garlic bread (red wine and grlic bread go so well togther!)

We both opted for the Australian ternderloin.. which were perfectly cooked…

We were then offered some freshly ground black pepper from the biggiest pepper grinder I’ve ever seen (it weighed a tone)…

We then finished the meal by sharing bananas wrapped in fillo pastry with home made coconut ice-cream with a sticky toffee sauce!

Overall it was an excellent meal… partly due to getting very drunk :) But also because of the perfectly cooked steak, great ambiance and probably the best service I have ever experienced in Thailand. I’d easily give the T-Grill a 4 plus!

Food, cocktails, wine, tax and tips: 6,500b (around $200)

Great food! Haha, that indeed is the world’s largest pepper grinder, or seems like. :-)

BTW, I was in Bangkok last week (my first time and a very brief trip)…
