Up to Manila, down to Borclay Island

What a day! I got up very early to fly to Manila, then got a taxi to the domestic airport and bought myself a ticket to Borclay Island. The airplane as the smallest I’ve ever been in, seating 24 passengers and one crew member! Lading was scary, but fun. I then got a funny looking motor bike taxi, which consisted of a motor bike with a frame on the side that sits 2, a little like what the 2 fat ladies are in at the start of there cookery programs.

Anyway, I got on a boat over to the island. I was hoping this would be a place where I can just relax for at least 5 days, and wondering around tonight I feel like I have fount the place I’ve been searching for. The island’s main district is on a 4km stretch of beach, with restaurants, bars, shops and hotels running all the way along it. I checked myself into a little bamboo hut for the night, but want to stay in somewhere nice for the rest of my stay so tomorrow morning I’m going hotel hunting.

I have just rounded the day of with lobster and steak followed by a few cocktails and sambuka in a bar.

By the way, the beach is stunning!
