Upcoming in Bangkok

I think it’s really important to learn about different industries, products and services outside of your own circle as it’s a great way to build up knowledge, network and more often than not, you’ll be able to apply some strategies and outside the box thinking to your own business from studying others.

Unfortunately I haven’t been doing this since I moved to Thailand, but maybe that’s now going to change since I come across 2 cool sites that list events.

The first is Upcoming, a service provided by Yahoo! that lists events in your area.  As you can see from searching Bangkok, there are lots of interesting things happening over the next few months.

The 2nd site I came across is Zvents, launched by a couple of guys that started Paypal. There are only 2 listings under Bangkok at the moment, but with both sites offering RSS feeds, it’s worth adding them to your reader in case something comes up in the future you’d be interested in attending.

In my News Years resolutions for 2008, I vowed to work my nuts off and get management in all areas of my businesses, so that I could so something different in 2009. Maybe this is it - Visitng events in Asia, learning new things and meeting new people! Hmmm, sounds like a plan to me
