I decided to give you a quick video tour of what goes inside my bag when I travel after getting the idea from Ted Murphy who did a quick video of the contents of his bag when he travels to conferences.
The contents of my bag is what I have been using since I moved out of my apartment in Bangkok 8 months ago. What you see here is my entire life’s possessions (apart from my notebook, phone, camera and ipod I did not show). The feeling of being able to put my whole life into one bag is mixed. I love the freedom it gives me, but on the other hand it makes me sad knowing this is all I have to show for being on this planet for 26 years! Either way, I’d take the great memories and experiences over tangible products any day!

That’s a lot stuff! I can live out of my carry on bag for about 7 days – I take advantage of the cheap laundry services (unless I’m in the US or Europe) for regularly cleaned clothes.
If I’m traveling by plane, I don’t like to check luggage. I think this is the reason I’ve learned to pack light – I got tired of living for a week when the airlines lost my bags…
Then there is my laptop backpack – I have quite a bit of crap shoved in there.
