What “Jai” are you?

Heart - JaiIn Thai language people normally describe others by the list below which all contain the word “Jai” which means heart in Thai.

I want to know what heart you have, please choose from the following:

  • Jai lie - bad person, no good
  • Jai dum - black heart (very, very bad person)
  • Jai dee - good heart (Me! Hahaha)
  • Jai lorn - hot heart, bad temper (My sister Jen)
  • Jai jen - cold heart which means calm, relaxed, laidback

Please leave your “Jai” match in the comments!

Why the list?

Myself and a friend brainstormed Thai words than contained Jai over a productive lunch today, I think I come up with 6 and my friend (Thai) come up with the others. Here’s a list of words in Thai that contain Jai but arn’t directed at people.

Cowjai - understand
Nee-er jai - I’m sure
Lie jai/song jai - a two timing bastard (butterfly)
Kreng jai - to not impose
Dok jai - shocked, surprised
Glum jai - worry
Sa jai - take
Tarm jai - up to you!
Dung jai - pay attention
Saajai - take care
Dee jai - glad

Did we miss any?
